According to the novel, we expect the second season to be more focused on Anthony Bridgerton. Having said that, the team announced that actress Simone Ashley would be introduced in the second season as Anthony's love interest. Her character is designed to be a wise, headstrong woman who would make Antony fall head over heels for her. The romance between them is also expected to be more intriguing.

On the contrary, it was announced that Simon(Regé-Jean Page) would not be seen in the second season.

The team Bridgerton bid goodbye to Regé-Jean Page by posting it on their official Twitter handle. The post also mentioned that Daphne would continue as a responsible wife and sister and help her brother navigate the following social season.

Bridgerton Season 2 Review

So we understand that the second season revolves around the journey of Antony in pursuit of a suitable viscountess. While the first season is also known for the passionate romance, we are sure that the second season offers nothing less than that. There are yet certain characters that have not achieved proper closure. The secret behind the identity of Lady Whistledown is yet to be made clear. Eloise, as motivated by the queen, eventually finds out her identity. We can't wait to see how the queen reacts upon knowing the name behind the anonymous scandalous writer. We also expect Penelope Featherington, who has a crush on Colin Bridgerton, to find a partner in the second season. Lastly, Mariana, the mysterious cousin of the Featheringtons, has gone through many troubles in the first season; we hope her character gets a break in the second season.
