Warner Bros Announced Suicide Squad, Mortal Combat Release Date in India

The wait is over! Warner Bros finally announced the dates of release of three of its films, The Suicide Squad, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, and Mortal Kombat in India. The Conjuring 3 and Mortal Kombat were released internationally, but not in India, due to the closure of theatres on account of the pandemic. However, these films are set to hit in Indian theatres soon.

Suicide squad 2 release date in india
  • Mortal Kombat, a Martial arts fantasy film, was released internationally on April 8 and in the US on April 23. It is all set to hit the Indian theatres on July 30.
  • The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, has already been released on May 26 and was available on HBO Max.Now that most states in India are permitted to reopen their theatres, this film will be released on August 13.
  • The Suicide Squad, by James Gunn, will be released worldwide on the same date, August 5th.

The Hollywood studio announced a unique distribution model for its 2021 movie releases. All the films would hit the theatres and the company’s official streaming platform, HBO max, on the same day. This news is a mighty blow to the theatre businesses as it can move them to a secondary means of viewing movies. This move is a tipping point for theatres in India and around the world and makes it impossible for them to recover the losses from the pandemic. Most theatre owners believe that OTT platforms are replacing them by pushing them to a corner.
